1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, browsing listings, booking stays or services, or hosting on Staygent, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Staygent operates a marketplace connecting guests with hosts and service providers. We facilitate discovery, booking, and payments but are not the owner of listed properties or services unless explicitly stated.
2. Accounts and verification
You must provide accurate information when registering. A valid email address is required; we send account verification codes to your email. A phone number may optionally be collected for booking communication but is not verified by SMS unless we explicitly enable that feature.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Hosts may be required to complete identity verification before publishing listings.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.
3. Bookings, payments, and cancellations
When you book a stay or service, you enter into a contract with the host or provider. Pricing, availability, house rules, and cancellation policies are set by the listing and shown before you pay.
Payments are processed through our approved payment partners. Refunds follow the cancellation policy applicable to your booking and any dispute resolution outcome.
4. Host and provider responsibilities
Hosts and service providers must provide accurate listings, honor confirmed bookings, and comply with local laws including licensing, tax, and safety requirements.
Staygent may remove listings or withhold payouts when we detect fraud, unsafe conditions, or repeated guest complaints.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform.
- No fraudulent bookings, fake reviews, or payment abuse.
- No harassment, discrimination, or illegal content in messages or listings.
- No scraping, reverse engineering, or interference with platform security.
- No circumvention of Staygent fees for bookings initiated on the platform.
6. Limitation of liability
Staygent is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Our liability for direct damages arising from platform use is limited to the fees you paid to Staygent for the booking giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the event, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Addis Ababa unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection rules.
