- Verification: one-time codes sent to your email during signup and security-related messages.
- Booking data: dates, guest counts, messages between guests and hosts, payment status, and reviews.
- Host data: listing content, photos, pricing, identity verification documents where required.
- Technical data: device identifiers, IP address, browser type, and usage logs for security and analytics.
3. How we use information
We use your information to operate and improve Staygent.
- Create and secure your account, including email verification.
- Process bookings, payments, and payouts.
- Send transactional messages (confirmations, reminders, support).
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Email vs phone
Email is required for registration and is used to verify your identity with a one-time code. If you optionally add a phone number, we may use it to facilitate communication about active bookings (for example, coordination with a host). We do not use optional phone numbers for SMS account verification unless we clearly state otherwise in the product.
You can update contact details in your account settings where available.
6. Retention and security
We retain account and booking records as long as your account is active and as required for legal, tax, and dispute purposes. We apply technical and organizational measures to protect data, but no online service is completely secure.

7. Your rights
